MOTORS
In recent years, motor technology has matured and gained widespread adoption. However, it remains a focal point for international energy efficiency groups due to its significant power consumption. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has established four energy efficiency classes for motors, ranging from IE1 to IE4. When it comes to variable speed motor efficiency, these levels are categorized as IE1 through IE5.
Furthermore, alongside the motor energy efficiency standards, there has been a gradual shift in the utilization of high-performance motors driven by energy-related regulations. As more countries implement policies related to energy conservation, and older motors are replaced, the market share of high-performance motors is on the rise. In the realm of extensive systems like motor drives, some countries have introduced regulatory frameworks aimed at achieving energy savings and carbon reduction objectives.
